**Breaking News**

We interrupt this blog for an important announcement!

Today, March 8, 2009, Legacy Kennel entered the record books!!!!!

In Columbia, Missouri, our very own Gracie became
Legacy's Winter's Grace RN

Grace is the first Legacy dog to earn a title and we are so terribly proud of her and her Mom, our dear friend J. When we had lunch on Friday J didn't say a word about the upcoming event, so we were totally surprised today to learn that together they earned a score of 85 to get their title.

We are all on cloud 9 today and will use this wonderful news as incentive to get Fudge back into practice along with one or two of Grace's siblings. This could be a wonderful year for the Legacy dogs. Thank you J and Grace.

In other news, I have finished 'The Book' and am ready to send it on.

Monica started the book-pass-along in January 2009 to share Knitting For Good, A Guide to Creating Personal, Social and Political Change Stitch By Stitch.

Betsy Greer gives insight into the personal and social benefits of knitting as well as the emotional reasons for why we knit. There are a few patterns included in the book, but this is far more about why we knit and why we should knit.

Here are the rules for the Book Pass Along:
1. When you receive the book, please go to Monica's blog and add yourself to the world map she's installed, so those interested can see where the book is. Please add your Name, location and your blog address, so we can visit, and for those who want the book, to leave a comment on your blog.
2. Read the book, enjoy it, let it inspire you, then do a draw, so you can pass it on. Best to copy the rules to your blog post with a link to Monica's blog, (so others who know nothing about her can know what's going on.) She glued a page into the book with the rules. It would be nice if the book did not lie around too long at any one point.

I have finished the book and am ready to send it to the next reader. If you would like to share in the Book Pass Along, leave a comment on this post. I will have Fudge select from the comments (he'll be fair, he can't read) and I will notify you that you have been selected. Once you have been selected, you can contact me with your address and I will send the book on to you.

There is a list inside the book for each person to sign when you receive it. Where will it go next???

Next we have an award to pass along.

I receive this award from Gaylen. Thank you, my friend.

The rules are:
1. Nominate women who show great attitude.
2. Link to them.
3. Leave them a comment so they pick up their award.

Here are my nominations.

Amy - Does she ever have attitude! Her irreverent humor cracks me up.

Emily - Yes, she displays attitude in her posts even while she has her hands full with dogs, birds, cats, rats, child and husband. She's one busy lady.

Joss - Not only does she blog daily, she paints, teaches, cares for friends and family and a new granddaughter.

Nicky- She has a multi dog family and takes it in stride. She also takes fantastic photos to share with us.

Sue J- One of my newer blog friends who is dealing with wrist problems. Yes, we knitters know all about aching wrists, but she shows her attitude by refusing to give up her knitting.

Dianne- This is another busy lady who is trying to expand her knitting experience. I was happy to share my favorite hat pattern with her recently.

Julie -She shows such imagination in her crafty projects. They all make me smile.

Kathy -She designs of the sweetest creatures and does a number of crafts. She also has a garden that makes me green with envy.

Dianne- She does rescue and shows such good humor in dealing with a mischievous dog, I know what that's like.

Wow, this is a busy post today. Lots of stuff going on here. Let me hear from you if you are interested in reading the book and I'll enter you in the drawing. Fudge will select the winner on Thursday evening and the book can be in the mail by this weekend.

Hi Sue, I just wanted to let you know that my rose concoction is just cut up banana peels, I usually collect them up for a couple of weeks or so, I then sprinkle them around the roses and add 1/3 to 1/2 cup of Epsom Salts sprinkled around each plant and then dig it in a little. I only do this once usually in March, it gives the rose plants a boost after a long winter. During the growing and flowering season I usually feed them a good rose food about every 5 to 6 weeks. Hope that helps.

Thanks so much for the award! You're so sweet!

Big congrats to Grace! I can't wait 'til you work on titles with Fudge (and more Fudge pics!) either! I have a thing for chocolate dogs, though it's hidden well by my brindles ;)
