Morgan Needs Your Help

When Morgan went for her check up a couple weeks ago, Dr B examined a cyst growing behind her ear. Although it had grown in the three months since it first appeared, it didn't look too troublesome. He suggested we have it and another little cyst on her lip removed. This morning Morgan went to the clinic and had a local anesthetic. The little cyst on her lip was removed and is fine, but the one behind the ear didn't appear to be a cyst.

The growth has been sent to the pathology lab for analysis. Dr B removed as much of the healthy tissue around it as he could with her under a local. If the lab report says the growth was malignant, she'll need to go back and have more tissue removed under general anesthesia.

Morgan is feeling fine, although she's not happy about wearing this fashionable bonnet. I, on the other hand, keep thinking about Monty.  It was just before Christmas two years ago when we thought he had a minor cough. X-rays showed us that he had lung cancer and he crossed the bridge two days before Christmas. We expect Morgan's lab report back about two days before Christmas.

Keep your paws crossed and think lots of healing and happy thoughts for my little girl. She needs them right now.

  3. Oh no, we don't want to see this. We are all going to woo our strongest sibe vibes and cross our paws, and Mom will say some prayers for Morgan AND you. We hate any talk about lumps as you know, but we hope you will remain optimistic. That is a long time to have to wait, maybe you will be surprised by an earlier and good report.

  15. Hi Sue! I hope Morgan will heal and I will keep her in my thoughts.

Simba has a bumb on his paw that doesn't seem to be allergy related and I am conserned as to what it is... like maybe if its a cyst? Can you take the time to tell me how to know if it is or not? My vet charges me $50 if I go in - even if it ends up being something worthless. So, before i go to the vet, I try to make sure its a worthwhile visit. Would you have any useful info?

    Thanks!!
