Furrytale Ceramics

In the past I've mentioned a couple of artists whose work I collect and shared a few of their pieces with you. One is Youlia Anderson who owns Furrytale Ceramics Studio in Pennsylvania. Youlia is originally from Russia and must have studied dogs closely to capture their movements so well.
Each of her pieces is hand sculpted without the use of molds, so each is an original.
I like her work because she's captured the whimsical nature of Porties as this piece show.

Her work is very dimensional and detailed. She does free standing pieces, wall art, and useful pieces such as plates and mugs.

I have a couple of Christmas pieces, too.

She sculpts a number of different breeds of dogs and also does horses. One example is the Terrier Taxi that I posted  in November.

She really seems to capture the spirit of my breed as in this piece called "Rub A Dub Dub, A Portie In The Tub."

Check out her web site at Furrytale Ceramics. Her work can also be found at Cafe Press and on Ebay.

  14. I really love these - I am not sure which is my favourite. It's a toss up between the car and the bath tub!! She is talented!

  15. The artwork is grand. I sometimes complain that artists depicting animals give all the great poses to cats while dogs are either just sitting or standing. You're right, these ceramics really do capture the motion of dogs.

I've awarded you a Memetastic Award. Stop by Something Wagging This Way Comes to pick it up.
