Fudge's Poem

Today it's July
And Mom made a pie.

It smells really nice
And we'd each like a slice.

 She says there's enuf
 Other good stuff

For us to eat
And enjoy as a treat.

There's biscuits and cookies and dog treats galore
And if we run out, she'll go to the store.

It doesn't seem fair
That our parents won't share.
So what do you do
When your peeps ignore you?

Do you just sit and stay
While they pack it away?

Do you whimper and whine
While they continue to dine?

Do you jump, bark and spin
Till they finally give in?

A puddle of drool
Is not really cool.

Guess we'll start yellin
For some more watermelon.

Finally we got her, she told us to wait.
If we'll be quiet, we can all lick the plate.

Great!

Have a safe and fun July everybody,
Your pal, Fudge

  1. Do you know a dog thats
    a little bit spoiled?

    A Portie named Fudge comes
    to mind.

What ever his Peeps eat is
    just what he wants,

And he woofs and he stomps 'til
    it sits on his plate!

  2. We made a little poem,
    and it was pretty great,
    but we forgot some important
words to say and we hope its not
    too late!

HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY, JOLLY INDEPENDENCE DAY! (I hope the firecrackers won't light!)

  6. Fudge, you are quite the poet! And, actually, so is Stella the Good Girl. Baby Brutus has much talent upon which to base his striving to be a smart boy...

Happy July, all of you! Enjoy your pie, and your watermelon. (Brutus had his first watermelon on Thursday, and whined for more.)

  11. Dribbles are good
    Waiting is bad
Waiting for something to drop on the floor.
That's always the best bit to be had.

  13. ha ha Fudge... you are such a creative fellow! Zeus says you should steal the pie... and blame it on the pups... no one can be mad at pups! :)

  14. Gg believe cute trumps everything and will work her audience with sweet, longing stares.

Sissy lacks subtlety. She will drool on the human's bare feet, put a wet jaw on a human knee, and if she's truly desperate, she'll nudge and moan. (THAT gets her in trouble, but sometimes she thinks it is necessary, just the same.)

  16. That pie looks sooooooo good! Fudge, surely you and the rest of the pack could plan some sort of diversion and get your paws on that pie!

The puddle of drool stanza cracked me up. This afternoon I baked treats for Wrigs, and unbeknownst to me, he had drooled a huge puddle next to the kitchen table while I was transferring them from the cookie sheet to the cookie jar. I stepped in his drool puddle and nearly slipped and fell on my butt. :-D
