In Like A Lamb

In Our part of the country March made a peaceful, even pleasant entrance. It had temperatures in the 60s and sunny skies. So how did we celebrate the beginning of March?

We paid a visit to Dr B.

Last week while comforting Morgan thru a thunder storm, I felt a lump on her chest. It was about the side of a quarter and didn't move around when I tried to manipulate it. Today, after a quick exam, Dr B did a needle aspiration. He looked at the matter under the microscope and said that it has no bad cells and is most likely a fatty tumor. We'll keep an eye on it and if it grows rapidly, we'll remove it. Otherwise, she'll live with it. Good news!
Norma Jean went with us and had her annual checkup. She had blood drawn, we do that every year and compare it with the ones before. Dr B was pleased with her condition. He said her weight is perfect at 62 pounds and her eyes, ears, teeth and coat are also fine. He commented on her muscular build and what a big, strong, happy girl she is.
She had vaccinations and bordetella vaccine so that she can start school later this month. She's looking forward to going to class. I'm not sure the school is ready for her.

Oooh, the vet. Not my favorite way to start a month - or to start anything for that matter. And it seems to me that there are a lot of needles involved in this visit. Stealing of blood, needle aspirations, vaccinations. Omidog what a lot of stickies. Still, it's wonderful that the results were all good.

March came in quietly here, too. Not as warm. More like a high of 40, I'd say. But sunny and not at all windy. A nice weather day, all in all.

Whew! Glad the lump isn't anything really scary. If our school survived Sissy, I think yours will survive Norma Jean. We're still in negotiations as to which of our girls will use the doggy classes gift certificate I bought at the auction...

Glad to hear it's just a fatty tumor, although with a dog FULL of them, it doesn't always make you jump for joy. I've finding more and more on Zeus these days... and Lola has a few too.

Happy Spring!

Oh, those darn lumps - they just seem to plague us, don't they? We hope it is just a fatty one and isn't going to become a bother.

Good luck with Norma Jean, we are betting she does very well.

It's a rainy beginning of March here so we exercised by jumping to conclusions.

Is Norma Jean planning on trying out for cheerleader at school?

All lumps and bumps are worrying, even if they are harmless. Always best to keep a beady eye out. Especially when they are such special girls.

As for March, lions are around, it's cold here. :-) x x x

My children had a book called "Norma Jean, Jumping Bean." Your Norma Jean could have been the title character. Glad both Morgan and Norma Jean are in good health.

It is always nice to hear good news from the vet. What lucky pups to have a mom that takes care of them so well.

Trinket had quite a few fatty tumors, and the vet checked them multiple times throughout the years, nothing became of them. Hope your dogs are going to be in continued good health.
