January Blues

At my age I should know better, but with every new year I can't help thinking that it's a new clean slate. I always think the bad stuff from the year before is past and the future is fresh and hopeful. Wrong!!! It's just a continuation of the year before and all the bad stuff comes along with it. This year is no different.

Morgan feels the January blues along with me.

I know a lot of people have been dealing with large amounts of snow. Here in Missouri we didn't get snow, we got mud, lots of mud. Here is a shot of my kitchen floor after an outing on Sunday. Yes, I know I should wipe off their feet when they come in, but I have forty feet to clean. When I had three dogs they waited at the door and got the paws wiped off, but with ten dogs I can't even keep track of who's been cleaned and who hasn't.

All in all I prefer snow.

I did finish something. My candy cane afghan wasn't done for Christmas, but I finished it on New Year's Day. Just in time to stick it in the closet for a year. It turned out nicely and it was fun to work on while watching television in the evenings.

I'm starting a new cross stitch tonight. I'm really looking forward to this one. I won't tell what it is, but if it turns out as expected I'll show it off. I'm thinking about what I want to knit next. I have several ideas whirling around in my head and maybe I can pick one and settle down with it.

Sky sends this smile to everyone. Now, how can anyone be blue with that sweet smile greeting them?

Where are his eyes? What a pretty smile. Love the candy cane afghan, will be lovely to curl up with next year.

I don't wipe paws either. We have a doggy door and burber carpeting in the basement. But they still manage to leave big muddy pawprints on the "good" carpet. g

Oh my goodness he really is smiling!
Your blog makes me smile every time I come to it, if I am having a rough day I just pop on in and see all those wonderful little doggy faces and I feel better instantly.
Beautiful afghan by the way, love those Christmas colors.

I'm grumpy. I don't know which is worse, but at least you have funny, cute dogs to both be blah with you and to make you smile!

I'm smiling right back at Sky! I only have three dogs, but never manage to clean their feet. The best I can do is to say "Don't forget to wipe your tootsies!!!" as they run past me into the house. :)
