Mom and Dad had hot dogs and potato salad for lunch today. Mom let each of us have a little of hers. Then she told us we could have our very own picnic outside.
We waited forever.
Finally, Dad came out with our bowls.
We were jumping up trying to see what was in the bowls.
He wasn't telling us what to expect.
He wasn't telling us what to expect.
He just kept walking over to the tree.
This was so exciting!
What could be in those bowls? Could it be more potato salad?
I, Norma Jean, was trying to get a sneak peek at what we were having as a treat.
Here I was saying "please tell us, Dad", but he wouldn't say.

Everybody was getting really excited and we were jumping up and down.
Then he started handing out the bowls.
It was watermelon! One of our favorites.
This tastes great!
This was a good surprise.
This was a good surprise.
Dad had some for Tsar even though he doesn't usually eat watermelon.
Dad asked Tsar to try it and Tsar said he would.
Dad gave him a little piece and Tsar ate it.
Look, Tsar is asking for more.
Wow, Tsar says he likes it a lot.
Morgan and Noah always take their time and savor their food. The rest of us eat as fast as we can and go looking for more.
We cleaned out the last bowl and licked off Dad's hand. Then we were done. We all think Labor Day is a pretty good holiday.

Oh, happy day! Watermelon! So glad Tsar finally enjoyed it, too.
Somehow we just knew it was going to be watermelon!!! And good for Tsar, he just likes to be pampered with small pieces and hand feeding:)

Looks like no more extra bits of melon from Tsar's bowl in the future. Maybe he just likes to be hand fed.
We always love photos of the gang. It's a wonder they didn't trip Dad up and get the melon themselves.

It sounds like a wonderful day!!! Holly doesn't like watermelon yet. Maybe small doses of it would work! We're glad Tsar liked it finally! Lots of love, Debbie and Holly
Watermelons are always a wonderful treat for a holiday or any other day :) Hope you have a good day with the boys and girls :)
We had rain and there were no picnics and no walking outside although the people had hambergers and baked beans. Mom's also making a cake - I bet we won't get any of that either! Beau
What a great doggie Labor day! I was so happy to see Tsar eating the watermelon. Maybe now he has decided that it tastes great he will want more!

Oh you lucky dogs! We didn't have a picnic today...seems dad had to go to work, again! Maybe Tsar just needs to be hand fed watermelon to truly appreiciate it?
