End Of A Long Week

Well, we managed to get thru it once again. Those group vet visits are rough. The dogs seem to enjoy the chance to go visit with their friends, but I  can't relax till they've all been there, and all the lab reports are back. This year everyone did really well. There was just one scare. Dr B wasn't there when I stopped by to pick up the reports for the three girls and Lola's lab work showed lots of red. Several of her liver values were high. Also there was another line on the report that was off on all three girls.
I slept badly last night and called Dr B first thing this morning. He just laughed and told me that is is one of those times when it pays to know your patient. All the things that showed up on the reports were due to their highly excited state. Their temperatures were high and they were panting so hard and busy twirling that they caused some of their labs to be skewed. Lola was the worst so we'll recheck her liver values in about three months.
Tsar's arrow this week is up and down. His legs are weaker and he needs help getting up more often than he did just a week ago. He also stumbles occasionally on the front steps. However, he's still sharp and can manage to get to his feet when he thinks a cookie might become available. He's interested in searching for lizards around the rocks and I try to limit his time outside because he tires easily. Dr B warned me again this week that Tsar will have bad days and not to obsess over them, but to watch for trends instead.

We wish you all a happy Passover or Easter or anything else you may choose to celebrate and look forward to our annual Easter Biscuit Hunt this weekend.

I like Dr. B. I think we finally have that for Gg with our "new" vet. (Sissy has always bonded with her vets...)

Sorry you had the scare though!

Happy PEEPSTER.

Sometimes I think all you can do is celebrate the good days and get through the bad days. Hope Tsar is able to enjoy the Easter biscuit hunt!

Biscuit hunt, huh? We may have a cheese hunt...thanks for the idea.

Dr B sounds like a wonderful vet.

Bella and Roxy went to have their ears looked at the other day. They had to go in together because Roxy tried to jump out of the car--it was hot so the windows needed to be down. It was not a pleasant experience for all concerned!

Great to hear that Tsar is still plugging along. Hope he gets a lizard. We never do.

I'm glad that it doesn't sound like there is anything really bad to worry about after the vet visit. I just went and got a clean bill of health too.

Happy Easter!

Glad to hear the vet visit went well. That biscuit hunt sounds like fun. Hope they all - including Tsar- find some tasty biscuits. Mom says I am doing good. I even put my sore leg down a few times yesterday and tried to use it. Don't worry M still lifts me up and down the stairs to outside AND uses the harness so I don't put much weight on it. Thanks for visiting and sending good thoughts to me. I feel them and know they help. Happy Easter and Happy Spring!
