It's In The Genes

Hi Everybody,
Our Mom loves us, even though we occasionally get into trouble. You see we have an excuse. It's in our genes. Portuguese Water Dogs are just made to get into trouble and I have proof.

You see, we have a famous cousin. He lives in Washington DC and though we've actually never met, we have a lot in common.  Even though Cousin Bo lives in a big fancy house with people around to look after him and make sure he behaves, he's still a Portie. Want to see what I mean?

Here's Cousin Bo  in the snow.

And here we are in the snow.

 This one is me.

Bo looks in the windows at his big white house to check on his peeps......

......... and so do we.

Mom say it makes her happy to know that the windows at the White House have nose prints, too. I don't know what she means by that.

Here it looks like Cousin Bo got to dig or at least play in the dirt.

So did we.

Technically Morgan isn't a Portie, but she's lived with us so long that we think of her as one.

Cousin Bo gets sad when he sees his Dad going off to work.....

..... and so do we.

Cousin Bo gets to lounge around on the furniture.......

.... and so do we.

Our Cousin Bo is a party animal.......

.... and no one likes to party more than we do.

So you see, Porties like to have fun no matter where they live. I wonder if Cousin Bo gets to splash in that big fountain in front of his house.

Your pal, Fudge

I'm pretty sure Cousin Bo does not have more fun than you guys. There's only one of him, after all, so he can't tag-team all those humans!

One of those photos doesn't look like you guys are 'lounging' on the sofa! Looks more like it should be in with the party animal photos!

I am sure cousin Bo doesn't get the personal peep attention that you guys get. So are take is, you are a lot better off and have a much better time.

Snow is a kind of water...isn't it?

We agree with Marjie, you always have others to have fun WITH...and to blame when things go wrong.

Marjie is smart... and mom to a lot of bi-peds, so I'm sure she's right too. Besides, Bo doesn't have your most paw-some parents!!

If Bo doesn't get to go into that fountain its a waste of a perfectly good fountain!!

Bo is a cute guy but I bet he would rather be one of your pack than being an all alone dog. Why not write to him and see if he could come for a visit?

Wouldn't it be fun if you could go and visit cousin Bo for a playdate at his house!
Our mom wants to know if there is any room for your mom and dad on the furniture when you're all lounging?!

Love ya lots,
Mitch and Molly

That's a lovely post. It brings home the point that our dogs don't care how important other humans think we are. They just love us for being in their pack.

What a wonderful post Fudge! Your cousin sure does give Porties a great name, as do you! :)
