We also feed them during the spring when they're raising their chicks.
Yesterday while it was snowing and the wind was driving the temperature down, I stood on the porch and photographed some of our feathered visitors.
Birds are real scavengers so even if you don't want to invest in seed, think about tossing some stale bread out. Oh, they also like sweets, so a spare muffin or cookie would be appreciated. Even a little of the dog's kibble will disappear.

Your birdie friends are pretty, and I love your cardinal. They love to hide in my evergreens, too.
They are tough little creatures. Another good thing about feeding them, is you get to look at them.
The birdies are sure having a tough year this year. It's been so cold!
Love ya lots♥

Whew...now that's a bunch of tough guys there.
Say you watching the Westminster Dog Show, a Portie is one of the favorite, and one has never one.......so if the Scottie don't make it...we be pulling for the Portie!
The Mad Scots
Our birds have been so quiet, I miss them and hope they are all surviving this terribly cold winter!
We don't have cardinals here - they are SO beautiful!
All our birds seem to take off during the winter. We put food out and it sits
We try to keep our birds fed during the winter and spring especially as well. We've had some beautiful ones out there these past couple of weeks.
Poor burdies!!! I should tell our burdies they have it easy!! Our hummers have already nested and the babies are barely able to fit in the nest! Ma hopes they don't fall out like last year..she had to put one of them back in! Anyhu, FABulous pics!!!
Kisses,
Ruby ♥
