Tummy Progress

Hi Everybody,
I asked Mom if I could borrow the blog today to tell you about our tummies.
As you all know we all had a terrible sickness a couple years ago. It made Samba and Sky so sick that they had to go to the Rainbow Bridge. The rest of us got better but Noah and I both were left with sick tummies. Dr B said that Noah has colitis and I have a leaky gut. It's caused lots of problems for us and for Mom and Dad.

The biggest and bestest thing we've done to fix it is our special food. Mom and Dad make our food in the kitchen. They use ground turkey and barley and peas and chopped up carrots and sweet potatoes. Then Mom cooks it for a long long time till it's soft and all cooked thru. At first we could only eat that food and nothing else, but after a while Mom started adding a little duck and sweet potato kibble to the special food. Now we get almost a cup of the duck kibble along with two cups of special food. We get that for breakfast and dinner. Our treats are sweet potato chips. They're yummy!
We both gained back the weight that we had lost and we both feel pretty good most of the time but there was one problem left that drove our Mom crazy. Our poops weren't so good. Mom is absolutely obsessed with our poop. It's OK because I read that most of you have the same problem with your Moms. What is it about these ladies? Anyway Mom said our poop was too loose. I have to admit that my poop could get kind of runny at times and then I sometimes needed a bath after pooping. That wasn't much fun.

So Mom and Dr B decided to give Noah and me Metronidazole every day. It made our tummies feel better and our poops got better sometimes. The problem was that it didn't seem to help them all the time. That wasn't good enough for Mom. She wanted our poops to be normal all the time. Give me a break.

A while ago Mom was talking with Dr B about Morgan's sore legs. She has arthritis and her joints hurt a lot. Mom had been reading about something called tumeric and she asked Dr B if it would help Morgan. He was glad she had asked and said it could help not only Morgan but it could also help Tess and Bailey and even me because we have sore legs sometimes. He said it could even help Mom and Dad.

Mom came home and started reading everything she could find about tumeric. She read that not only could it help sore joints but it was good for digestive disorders such as colitis. What?? That's what Noah has. Mom found one that she thought sounded perfect and ordered it. She chose Dr Danielle's Organic Tumeric Curcumin with BioPerine.
She chose this one because she liked what she read about the way it's made in the USA in GMP certified facilities. The only thing in it is organic tumeric grown by non-GMO Indian growers and 5mg black pepper. Pepper makes it more digestible. There are no fillers, binders or artificial ingredients. Mom didn't like the smell at first but she's gotten used to it. We thought it smelled great.

When it arrived Mom started giving us each one capsule every morning after breakfast. She and Dad started taking it too. Dr B had said it would take a few weeks before we saw any changes and he was right. Mom is very very happy that both Noah and I are having consistently better poops. They're orange from the sweet potatoes and carrots but they aren't runny and no extra baths have been needed.

The girls are moving around better, Bailey isn't limping and Morgan hasn't fallen down all week so it looks like tumeric is going to be a regular supplement in our house. If any of you want to try it, Mom orders it from Amazon.

Your pal, Fudge

We definitely need to check this out! I'm not sure how much help it would be for Tut & Sophie at this point, but possibly... they've been my allergy prone issue dogs.
