A Smile A Day

Why is it when you're having a bad week that some outsider steps in and makes it worse? This morning when I turned on my computer, first I couldn't connect to the net at all. This machine has been running wireless ever since I got it over a year ago, but today it had to be wired. Once I connected, all my emails and contact lists were gone. It seems that in their infinite wisdom AT&T chose today to make great new changes without informing, forget about asking, me. They have assigned me a new email address and features which they are very excited about and that I don't want.

After much table pounding and swearing, I am connected, at least for now, and have found most of my emails. What address works is beyond me. I'll let you know when I figure it out. Gee thanks, AT&T.

To try and cheer myself up a little I took pictures of, what else, some dogs. I told each of them to smile for the camera. Here are the results.

Noah sat still, but no smile.

Samba needs her beard trimmed. No smile.

Fudge sits at attention, no smile.

This is the top of Tess's head. Not only did she not smile, she couldn't sit still long enough for her picture to be taken.

Which brings me to another complaint. I love my little digital camera. It takes nice clear pictures, but once you push the button you have time to go to the kitchen and make a cup of tea before the shutter actually snaps. This little delay is ok if you're taking photos of flowers or rocks or that sort of thing that just sits there forever, but it doesn't work well for active dogs. I get pictures of ends of tails or sides of faces or just space. So, to correct this little complaint, for Christmas Rob gave me a new camera that's supposed to be much faster, fast enough to actually get shots with the dogs in them. I have to read thru my manual to see just how to use it, but soon my pictures should get better.

Morgan is having a really bad day. She didn't get her meds on time today and has had a rough morning. I finally convinced her to rest in her basket and she's still there. I hope the afternoon gets better for her.

Here's a smile. I can always count on Sky. He had a haircut so you can even see his eyes today. What a sweetheart.

Not too many smiles, but they're all beauties!

I want to climb through the monitor and sit with Morgan. I'll just grab a cup of peppermint tea and a book...

So sorry AT&T is being "helpful." Why does technology always assume improved is better?

Keep smiling, Sky. We need your smiles to get us through the winter!

Thanks for showing Skye's eyes. Morgan looks like a precious doll in her basket. I hope both of your days got better. g

Thanks for the comment on my blog. I'm trying to write humor about the odd things that happen in my life.
