Well I saw the thing comin' out of the sky
It had one long horn, one big eye
I commenced to shakin' and I said "ohh-ee"
It looks like a purple people eater to me
It was a one-eyed, one-horned, flyin' purple people eater
Pigeon-toed, undergrowed, flyin' purple people eater
We wear short shorts
Flyin' purple people eater
Sure looks strange to me
I said Mr Purple People Eater, what's your line
He said it's eatin' purple people and it sure is fine
But that's not the reason that I came to land
I wanna get a job in a rock and roll band
The year was 1958 and Sheb Wooley had a huge hit on the radios all over the USA. It was a silly song that got into your head and wouldn't leave.
Fast forward to 2010 and take a look at the Purple People Eater that lives in our house. This is Morgan's favorite toy. She carries it all over the house, into the yard, when she goes for rides in the car and she sleeps with it.
It originally had three horns and two feet, but she fixed that. In fact it will soon be footless as she's working on amputating his remaining foot.
Morgan wishes everyone a happy Dogs On Thursday.

That's a great song. And thank you very much for the ear worm!! That won't leave my head all day. g
Now you've got me singing it in my head... oh boy!
Now you've got me singing that in my head... oh boy!
A timeless song - Mom loves it and even the little grandbipeds know it.
Cute toy, great story.
Woos - Phantom, Thunder, and Ciara
What a happy gal!! And a great song!
When my pups were young they used to amputate their stuffed animals too. I had to fix quite a few of them, and they were constantly replaced.
Hey Morgan, Happy Day to you too. We were supposed to get nice sunny weather today but now its getting colder and snow is predicted for tomorrow. Just when we were hoping Winter was done. Ah well, it won't last long.
I got lots of toys and I love them all, no favorites here.
Kisses,
Stella
Well, how could it be flying if it had all those feet? Morgan is wise indeed!
Love that song. My girls aren't toy-loyal, not the way Fred was. Fred always had to have his special baby, whichever plushie Mugsy hadn't destroyed. Mugsy always had to have a tennis ball, and often fell asleep with a ball in his mouth as he got older.
Enjoy the toy!
XXXOOO Daisy, Kendra and Bella
What a cute picture of Morgan and her toy! One of our dogs had a favorite toy. When DH would say "where's momma?" she'd go grab her beloved stuffed heggie. :-)
oooh i remember that song so well, i was 10 years old, and we used to sing it at school. what a cutey toy, and happy doggie thursday to you and the gang.
Yes that song really does stick in your head.... doesn't it! Love Morgan's toy and apparently so does she!

Old, raggedy looking dog toys are the best. Marge has her bunny, which still has all his limbs, but has many stitches all over him.
Oh no, now I have the song stuck in my head! LOL!
