Celebrate The Solstice

Today is the Winter Solstice.
It's been grey and gloomy here for weeks with only a quick glimpse of sun now and then.
But we're sure the sun is shining brightly somewhere and we'll soon get to share in it.
Enjoy this special day with us and we wish you a most wonderful winter season.

I am happy the solstice is here because it means the days will start to get longer! It is dark so much of the time, it is hard to be motivated to do much!

This is also Forefathers' Day, celebrating the arrival of the Mayflower at Plymouth Rock. For people who thought they were going to the temperate climate of Virginia, they were in for a rude shock! Happy Solstice, Sue!

Lots of grey here in KC too! I don't mind the winter weather but sunshine would be nice now and then. I hope you guys had a great weekend!

Beautiful photos. I've always found it a little odd that winter is cold and dreary, but the first full day of winter is the day after the winter solstice, meaning the days are getting longer again.
