Welcome Neighbor

We live on a quiet dead end street but we do have some neighbors. Our closest neighbors live directly across the street and our properties are adjoining. They know our dogs and our dogs know them. Still, when the dogs are outside, they must inform us when the neighbors appear.

Tsar is often the first alert.
Here they come, the car is turning into the driveway.

I don't see them.

Turn around, Norma Jean. You're looking in the wrong direction.

Let's go guys, we have to say hello.

I see them.

Hurry, they're getting out of the car.

Hi neighbors, where have you been? Did you bring home anything good to eat? Do you want to come play with us?

Either Rob or I are always with the dogs when they're outside, so if they begin to bark we can put a quick stop to it. We want them to be good neighbors.

I'm sure your supervision of them when they're outside is appreciated by your neighbors. We have several barky dogs in the neighborhood, and it can sure get irritating when they don't stop. It's sad, because I know the majority of them are barking because they have nothing else to do.

I'm sure your neighbors appreciate your vigilant watch over them. Whenever a dog barks at our house (and one sets them all off), we look out - but most if the time it's an airplane going over -or the washer spinning! Usually if a car comes, I hear it before they acknowledge it.

You should hear our puppies "barking". They sound like toy space guns used to sound when we were kids.

Have a great day.

Oh how I wished I lived next door... I would always be finding some excuse to come over and play!

Love the photos. I'm sure your neighbors enjoy the thoughtfulness. We have dogs on either side of us, and while the labs on the right bark often enough, the samoyed on the left? Wouldn't know she's there if I hadn't seen all the walks.

One day, Thor was out at a small section of our property that faces the street, when a man was walking up the street. Thor let out a couple of harsh warning barks, and the man hollered at my boys to shut that dog up. That caused Thor to let out 2 more barks, which caused the guy to threaten to call the police, to which my Ryan responded, "Why? He's exercising his constitutional right to free speech." And that butthead didn't even live on our street! Thor never barks at the cars that belong in the 4 houses he can see from his own yard. Funny how different all dogs are.

You are good neighbors. What command do you use to get them to stop barking? g

Good job on letting your hoomans know that the neighbors are alive and well, guys! We tell our mom and dad anything and everything too and sometimes they are very unappreciative!

Love ya lots

A very smart neighbor you are. Our neighbors are really annoying, they let their pups run loose and then wonder why TD and Phantom get mad at the fence. And they also have very noisy barking dogs out at all hours of the night.

Yeah, I can relate with the Mud season (just before Scorched Earth Season - I hear *that* loud and clear, too!) but, they certainly seem to be enjoying the warmer weather, and don't they just make you giggle when they act silly like that?!

Great shots; have a great weekend ahead!

The canine equivalent of Junior yelling, "DADA!!" when the back door opens. And yes, the supervision is an appreciated part of doggie parenthood.
