Getting To Know You

Getting to know you
Getting to know all about you
Getting to like you
Getting to hope you like me

Sebastian is home. Last Thursday he went to the vet clinic to get the works. Because of Samba's compromised immune system, we were taking no chances. While we tried to locate his owners, he got a complete checkup and blood tests. He had a clean bill of health.
On Monday he was neutered and had a microchip implanted.  It's been a week since he appeared and no one seems to be looking for him, so we've declared him officially ours.

Now to meet the rest of the pack. First Miss Morgan. She gets a little confused and here she was saying "What new dog?".
Once we got them turned around the introduction went smoothly.
Now how about the curly girls?
Wow, there are so many of them.
Before when we've introduced a new dog to the pack, it's been a young puppy. Most dogs accept puppies readily and even overlook their bad manners. Monty always took care of puppies, playing with them and teaching the limits and rules of the house.

This time we're introducing an older dog. The vet estimates his age at 18 months and we're being careful, taking our time and trying not to overwhelm Sebastian with a curious pack charging at him to get acquainted. He and Morgan are eating meals together and are good pals now.
The girls seem to have accepted him and after a few sniffs, ignore him. Armed with a pocket full of cookies we introduced him to Samba and the boys. Samba ignored him completely and Noah and Sky were curious, but well mannered. Fudge, being Fudge was a complete dork. He tried to mount Sebastian and was treated to growls and my reprimand.
I'm sure in time Fudge and he will make some sort of arrangement, though they may never be good friends.
Bailey thinks he's OK.

I can't even imagine... I do confess to a giggle while I watched and read about Morgan's introduction. Sometimes, perspective is everything...

As long as he has one good pal, he will be OK, until the rest of the gang come around. He is so pretty!

Mazel tov on the new addition! He's very handsome and we know he'll fit right in. We figure Tsar had a paw in sending Sebastian right where he needed to be, with you. There is always a dog in need out there to fill the holes in our hearts. We're happy for Sebastian and for you that you found each other.
