The Hunt - part 2

Tsar is very good at this activity. He's one of the most observant dogs I've ever known. When he walks into a room he'll go directly to anything that's out of place. This kind of hunt was just made for him.

At one point Tsar had four biscuits in his mouth and was looking for another. I made him stop and eat the ones he already had. There would be none for the others if he kept up that pace.
The search moved up and down the hill and every now and then one would come over to tell me what a good time they were having.

Even Tess was catching on.

Norma Jean found this one. It didn't last long.

Tsar spotted one in the grass.

Tess found this one with no help.

Bailey just checking in. I think she's asking if we can do this again soon.

Morgan checking out the garden.

Sky had to stop and chew before continuing.

There were a lot of biscuits in the grass in that area.

Tsar thinks we might have hidden one in the bricks. He was right.

He decided to lie down to guard the area while eating his biscuit. He didn't want anyone else to find the rest that were hidden in the bricks.

Morgan was doing well.

After eating all those biscuits there was a rush to the water bucket.

A cold drink sure hit the spot after all that work.

When the hunt was over and everyone was heading inside, Tsar sat on the hill to think it over. It was a very good day for everyone.

Tsar and Morgan and Samba probably found the most biscuits, but I think the activity was good for everyone. Tess and Noah both built up their confidence to the point where they were finding biscuits by themselves. Fudge was too busy to bully anyone else. If he tried, he missed out on the treats. Sky and the girls all did well, as I expected. I was definitely the big winner. I raised smart, happy, confident dogs that played a game together with no fights and everyone enjoyed it. What more could I ask?

I think you're right. It's rather like raising kids, no? You want them to grow up and do exactly what they did - have fun and play together with no fights. Great job. g

How wonderful it has been to see the pups enjoy their hunt. And Kudos to you for raising such awesome pups, especially now that one of their breed will be in the White House. Perhaps, the Obamas should keep you on speed dial. Thanks for sharing this with us. It has been just a joy!
