Over the weekend the humidity went down and it felt a little more comfortable, but the heat and humidity have been creeping back up again.
This was this morning's sunrise.
The abundance of clouds looked promising and almost as soon as I got the dogs inside, we heard the rumble of thunder. The thunder continued, but no rain fell.
Yesterday the porch thermometer read 96.7 degrees. On our 2 o'clock outing no one wanted to move around very much.
Morgan brought one of her favorite toys outside with her.
It was too hot to play with it, so she just laid down with it securely tucked under her paw so that it wouldn't be stolen.
For some strange reason the dogs think it's cooler under the hammock.
They all look for spots to relax under it.
Tsar doesn't usually go out during the afternoon and he didn't enjoy the heat at all.
I had a little group looking for attention.
I think they are asking to go back into the air conditioning.
I gave them what they wanted and we all trooped back indoors. We're hoping for cooler temps and some rain soon.

They must not think the sun can get through the hammock, even with the holes.
We had a break here in the heat today, after it poured and poured and poured. Thankfully, Mother Nature spared us the thunder, lightning and hail that some other places got.
It's hot out here, too. 90's every day with thunderstorms. Bad lightening, too, which means wildfire season is upon us. Milo, just like your crew, goes outside only when necessary. It's even too hot to take a nap on the deck, which he loves to do. Let's hope for cooler temps all everywhere.
hope it cools down for you. with our AC off during the day, I know what you mean. it was 96*here yesteray. we sat in front of the fan.
Poor all of you. I hope the heat breaks and some rain comes. We're due for storms later today.
We're headed into higher temps. Jay went back to work today so it's just me, the dogs and the housework. UGH. Hope you temps continue their downward trend. g
poor little doggies in this weather, here it is 33 degrees,90 degrees, and humid and sweltering, we are expiring and prespiring...and snuffs just mooches about the house looking for a place to lie that is cool, ususally right in front of the fan.
It's been a lot hotter than usual but what can we do!
It's great to see the pack playing together!

It has been very nice here in the Kansas City area, very sunny and warm temps, but no humidity. And the most perfect cloudless blues sky. Storms rolling in for the next few days:( Pups look like they are enjoying their time outside.
Woos, the OP Pack
Our paws are crossed for cooler temps to come your way! Being too hot is no fun at all!
Love ya lots,
Maggie and Mitch
