October

Wow, can you believe it's already October? Wasn't it just December a few weeks ago? The doggies are very happy to have the cooler morning and evening temperatures and are much more active then they have been all summer.
The two little girls spend almost all day outside, weather permitting, and the big girls have been joining them for several hours. It makes for nice quiet, tired dogs at the end of the day.
Rob has been doing haircuts for the past week. Lola has the shortest since she was badly matted. They all seem to be happy about losing the long hair.

This is a busy month for them. Samba's pups, Tess, Lola, Bailey, Noah, Norma Jean and their sibs Grace and Gibson are celebrating their 7th birthdays at the end of the month.

I also told the dogs they could dress up for Halloween, but they have to select their own costumes. This should be interesting!
For anyone interested, my ankle is improving a month after being bitten. One puncture is closed today and the other is looking better though it still bleeds a little each day. There is no sign of infection but a lot of bruising. Syd is using up her energy playing outside with Mac, and Noah is taking daily medication for anxiety. We're all doing lots of obedience refreshers too. Everyone except Morgan has to sit for every treat, meal or any other goodie. Morgan is exempt due to age and medical issues.
To end this silly post, I offer you a dozen eggs if you're interested in a very small omelet. El continues to leave an egg every other day though I threaten her each night.
Welcome October!

Poor El, we think she really wants to be a mother!

You were REALLY injured! SHE's only had small wounds from snapping dogs. Hope it heals quickly.

Wow, that must have been some bite! I was sympathetic, but not sympathetic enough. As I have mentioned before I have been bitten many times (last night most recently- bad Karma) but never have I had a bite that has taken as long as yours to heal. I am going to send healing energy to you with my considerable mental powers 8-). Hope you are back to normal soon. ♥

I'm glad your ankle is healing and isn't infected, Sue! Those punctures must have been quite deep. It sounds like the dogs are having a wonderful fall. You all deserve it after your stressful summer with all its heat, rain, and fireworks.

I think Morgan has earned her exemption. She behaves well, anyway, and is a good example for all of the others.

The costume choices should be very interesting! This is my first year in 25+ when no one will be dressing up.

I had to scroll back a ways to catch up. Sorry about the bite. Those can take forever to heal, but I'm sure you are taking good care of it. These things happen.

Glad that Sebastian is on the mend and out of his cone.

Sounds like maybe October will be a peaceful month.
