Busy Girls

What a busy day Sydney and Mackenzie have had. It started with an early breakfast, then we put Syd, Mac and Sebastian in the car for a visit with Dr B.

Sebastian went first. He's had a sick tummy for a couple days and with all the health problems we've had lately, we wanted to get him checked out. He was fine, no fever and no pain, but he does have to lose a few pounds. He's lost a pond since his last visit but needs to lose about five more.
Poor Sebastian is like me. He'd rather snuggle down on the couch with a quilt and a good toy to play with, than to run around the yard in the cold. He'll be eating more green beans and fewer treats and we'll take more walks in the park and soon he'll be slim and trim again.

Next the girls saw the doctor. They're 11 weeks old now and Syd weighs 12 pounds. Mac weighs 10. They had their sharp little nails trimmed and got complete examinations, then their third set of vaccinations.

Then Dr B and I had a little talk about behavior and training. Sydney knows her name and we're working on "sit". She gets it about half the time. She loves hearing that she's a good girl and she's very food oriented, so training is pretty easy.
Mac, on the other hand, thinks names are highly over rated. She doesn't react to hers most of the time and the easiest way to get her to come is to call Syd, then Mac follows.
Syd walks pretty well on leash. Mac doesn't like being told where she should walk.
Dr B has had Beagles all his life and recognizes a lot of Beagle behavior in Mac. He gave me a few pointers on living with and training Beagles.
He seems quite taken with Mac, but then she is pretty cute, even if she's a little monster.

Sitting is highly over rated in our opinion...unless there's cheese involved or other tasty treat.

Hope Sebbie is feeling better. We KNOW all about having to lose weight.

XXXOOO Daisy, Bella & Roxy

SHE'd be watching those pups all day and not get any work done.

Training two puppies who are litter mates is a tall order. But you knew that...

OK we had an attack of the giggles looking at the girls and their expressions. You tell Sebastian not to worry abut the diet I am in the same boat, Mom told Dad last night my tummy is bigger then my chest, Heeheehee. "ON NO NOT THE GREEN BEANS TREAT THINGY"

OMD! They are SOOO cute!! I hopes your Moms will share the 'training' of stubborn pups that are NOT food motivated....(that is Ma talkin', NOT me!!)
Okays, Sebastian, I am getting the 'you need to loose weight' thingy too! I don't like veggies, so that is out. Butts Ma gives me kibble instead of treats. It's kind of a transition, because now I'm just eating MORE kibbles!! heheehe So now Ma says that I have to have LESS kibbles, too!! I swear, this is startin' to feel like puppie abuse!! hehehe
Kisses,
Ruby

Oh, this is great. They are adorable. I had a beagle mix when I was a kid, and he only obeyed his nose, nothing else. :)

I love hounds and terriers... because I like a challenge, I suppose. They're beautiful girls.

Good luck to Sebastian. I hope he likes green beans.

Wow the girls are really growing! It sounds like you might have your hands full. :-) I had a really hard time training the two pups --well, not hard, just challenging with all the showing off and acting out. Something I wish I had done more of is work them separate and take them on little solo trips to bond with them one one one. We do that now sometimes, but it's a little stressful for them. Also I bet as she gets older that some sibling rivalry and food motivation might get her attention. :-) Sebastian is living the good life now and he KNOWS it, so why waste precious time running around. ;-)

Your babies are just adorable, and I think that's why they are always so cute, because then they can get away with just about anything! :-)

Oh, those gorgeous worried looks. But I'll bet they're not really worried about anything except exploring and having fun.

I do not recall Dr. B's beagle being well trained ;)

It sounds like you girls know exactly what you want already at your very young age! Both of you are just so darn cute!

Love ya lots,

AW, those faces are so precious! I hope they enjoyed their ride with Sebastian. Tell Sebastian I need to lose 5 pounds, too, and I'm not getting up off my sofa in the cold either (other than to visit the dentist later today because I lost a filling). So between you and me, Sebastian keeps good company. Glad he's doing well, and happy to see the new girls looking so good!

Those Sydney and Mac are too cute--they're making me (not Wrigs) long for a puppy! Nicki's comment cracked me up. Hope Sebastian's upset stomach settles soon.
