Look what happens when we have two consecutive warm (70) days. Spring happens!!
Happy little daffodil faces pop open.
The plum tree buds swell and turn pink.
The Forsythia bursts into color.
The Maple tree starts putting out little helicopter seed pods.
The Clematis in the butterfly garden starts climbing the trellis.
I think this time it's the real thing. Spring is here.
Last week I received one of my favorite kind of packages. It was a 'just because' gift. Isn't it great to get a gift when you're not expecting it and you haven't done anything in particular to earn it?
Chan sent me adorable little froggy sugar, creamer and tea bag holder to go along with my froggy teapot. Aren't they cute? If we're having a bad day, a cup of tea with these little guys will make us smile. Can't help it. Thank you, Chan.
One of our DOT friends, Joss, paints. She showcases her pictures on her blog and a while ago I asked if she would sell us one. She was so very kind and actually sent us two, of our choice, and only requested a donation to a charity as payment. Since I think I am more afraid of Alzheimer's than anything in the world, that's the charity I chose. Joss agreed and I then had her paintings framed.
I hope to have all the rooms in the house painted this year and then we'll select the perfect spot to hang them. For now, here they are in the office.
I have met the nicest people blogging. I really feel I've made some friends doing this. Who would have thought?
Here are some pics of breakfast this morning. People breakfast, that is.
The dogs all lie quietly in the kitchen until we finish, but we usually save some scraps for them to share. Here are Sky and Fudge telling Rob they're ready to lick plates.
This is what they've been waiting for.
Yum, that toast and peanut butter sure is good.
Samba just rests her head in my lap and waits for my next move.
Our vet clinic has a sign out front that has different message all the time. I think my favorite was "It's Cool To Bring Stool". I never did remember to take a picture of that one, but I like this one, too.
Time to go pick up the dogs from the spa.

Pretty flowers! I wanted to have "Balls are for fetching, neuter your pet" put on the other side of the sign but the "one who pays the bills" did not think that was ok. We stole that sit, stay, spay idea (and the neutering one) but I"ll take credit for the stool slogan!
Thanks for giving us an eyeful of spring - we probably have another 2-3 weeks to go here.
Plate-cleaning is a very desirable in our house, too.
Love the quote!
How lovely to see such nice Spring pictures. I love your little "dishwashers" I bet they do a great job!

Such gorgeous flowers! Thanks for the eye candy. I do miss the flowers of the Midwest so much!! Glad to know we aren't the only ones to indulge in a little plate licking for Milo. And I love the sign on your Vet's office! And yes, blogging does lead to meeting the nicest people.
Oh I love daffodils. They have such pretty faces - daffys and daisies.
Beau thinks if I eat breakfast at home he gets the last bite. Not anyone else - him. And he gets really irritated when I put raisins in my oatmeal.
Beautiful little frogs from Chan - isn't she thoughtful? I love your plates, I might have a thing for dishes.
Whew - that was a long comment :) g
aaaaaawwwww, they look so special hung up in your home. do you know how many people have asked me about those two particular pieces? the african one is a great favourite of many of the bloggers, and the print is my art teacher's favourite. ha ha enjoy them, and thanks for the honour of hanging my art. WOW!!!
My fur-girls think peanut butter and ANYTHING is good! Love those paintings.
(And I like Nicki's balls slogan...)
Beautiful what you did with SoulBrush's paintings. They are awesome and will bring you much joy.
Love your pops of spring!
Lovely dogs you have!
Came over from Soulbrush Lovely pieces you got from her!
I love the second one in combination with the black frame!
happy Animal Wednesday!
I came here to see SB's work hanging in your home. They look fabulous framed! The african one is one of my favorites...lucky you! She's so generous and big hearted.
I love the name of your blog...so clever!! I had a feeling I'd see PWD's here :)
Very clever vet signs too. Hilarious!
(I was a vet tech for 25 years and now I'm a visiting pet nurse.)
Came over from Soulbrush & Lynns blogs to see the paintings SB did. They look great framed and hanging. What made me comment is the picture you posted of the Maple tree budding out. We have been taking a nature walk in our Town and saw those same trees and were trying to figure out what they were. NOW I know. Thanks. They are interesting the way they come out. Love your dogs too. Never heard of them until the lastest Presidents kids getting a dog thing but they are such pretty dogs.
