Rewarding Good Behavior

The past two weeks have been busy for my pack. First there were vet visits for everyone. Each one had to part with some blood and receive a vaccination. Then this week they all went to visit the groomer. That requires standing still for what they consider a very long time. It also means they have to part with that wonderful doggy scent they've worked so hard to attain.

I'm sure they all believe they deserve a special reward for what they've been through. I agree.

This weekend after the final group has been shorn, we'll play outside with the frisbees and glow balls. I keep the frisbees stored out of their reach because Morgan and Bailey feel a duty to destroy all toys and we don't want the frisbees all chewed up.

I also plan to bake dog biscuits this weekend. I have several old recipes that I've used for years. One is veggie flavored. Another is peanut butter flavored, but the very favorite is cheese flavored. Monty ate a whole tray of them when he was a puppy. I had left them on the counter to cool. When I came back to the kitchen only two biscuits were left.
I have a couple new dog treat cook books, so tonight I'll look through them and see if we can find a new special treat for dogs that have had good reports from their vet and their groomer.

Be sure to visit Dogs On Thursday today and check on everybody's pups. We have several new members who deserve a big welcome. I also posted about being prepared in an emergency. Knowing what to do can save the life of your pet. Please be prepared.

Happy DOT to you and your darling crew. I seem to garner so much useful information from reading your blog. Thanks so much. I am going to find a recipe for homemade dog treats.

Baking for the pooches is on my agenda this weekend too. Their treats from their Auntie 'Nita are almost gone, and the girls have decided they really can taste the love in homemade treats...

Love, love your dogs. Fudge looks adorable in his current mug shot. They do deserve a special treat for working so hard to be good.

I might convince the one armed man to bake for the dogs this weekend too. Great idea. g

I LOVE the new hairdos! Who is it with the pretty b/w striped muzzle?

I don't have any dog-friendly recipes; I supposed I too need to find some and bake for my babies! They don't have to be shaped like bones, do they?

My kids are jealous of your pack's homemade treats!

They don't look like the same dogs with their new haircuts! At least that will help your housekeeping problems for a while. Happy DoT, from Thor who's outside wallowing in the mud!

Poor little things they have been through a lot this past two weeks so it is only fitting that they get some delicious home baked goods. Have fun with your baking.

Thanks for visiting my blog. Yes I do grow those flowers. They are called FAIRY ROSES. and they bloom so pretty but only last about a month. But they grow fast and make wonderful arbor vines. Dont now why you couldnt grow them. If you can grow Roses you could grow these.

I got my newsletter from Dog Age; they had an article on cocoa mulch and the dangers it poses to dogs. Got any other good "critter safety" tips that I can use in my garden column?
