Norma Jean Goes Fishing

Portuguese Water Dogs were used on the fishing boats to carry out various tasks. One of their jobs was to herd fish into the nets. Yesterday was a beautiful, sunny, warm (not hot or humid) day, so Rob turned the hose on to fill the wading pool.

Norma Jean was one of the first ones in the pool.

She likes the spray.

Everyone else had to come see what she was doing.

She paddles in the water. We say she's looking for fish.

She starts paddling faster.

She's very focused on her task.

The others are quite interested in the splashing.

One of the others wants to play, too.

Hey, where did everyone go?

Oh well, let's get back to work.

She would stop and look around, then go back to fishing.

The only way to stop her was to tip the water out of the pool.

Well, what do you expect? I'm a water dog.

Oh what wonderful fun! I can just imagine what it would be like if you had a very large backyard pool!

Oh I love it. Norma Jean - tell your mommy you need a bigger pool and maybe they could actually put some fish in it rather than just tease you telling you to find them. g

What fun! I think rain or not, Sissy shall get a tub - er, pool - this weekend. She'd like that, although I think she'd just leap in and out and drink the water.

Those are some funny pictures. Norma Jean clearly had fun that day! The only water game Thor plays is trying to bit the hose stream.

Oh they are having such fun, its so nice to see those pictures. I want to thank you for asking how bonnie is, she has to take quite a few tablets to start the treatment. The scan showed a blockage around her heart, so that is why she is very listless and walks slow. Its very hard to watch when she is only 3 1/2yr old. We have to wait to see if this treatment dose the job. Bonnie is getting lots of love & care. Julie.C

That looks so refreshing. Looks like Norma Jean is having a great time embracing her roots as a Water Dog.

You knows, Norma would make a great canine-motor at back of any boat. She really looks like a great paddle power!

Must get a bigger pool so you lot can all paddle at the same time ...!

lolololol! She looks like she is having a blast! I got the bassets a little wading pool last summer as they like to wade in creeks. Nothing. Nada. No interest in it even as a giant water dish!

These pictures are so adorable. I'm jealous. I have to pull and tug and entice Ginger into a bath and yours go willingly. Ugh, I don't think mine is a water dog at all.
