And A Happy New Year

On Christmas morning we had a trace of snow on the ground, and big surprise, this morning we had some more. The dogs have all been wishing for snow as we've read all your blogs about the large amounts some of you have gotten. I've seen pictures of your dogs playing in the white stuff and my guys haven't seen snow in a long time. So, imagine how happy they were this morning when I opened the door.

First things first, make some yellow snow.

Wow, what shall we do first? Tsar tasted some to be sure we weren't fooling him. Samba, in the red jacket wanted Rob to throw snowballs, but there was't really enough snow for that.

Sky and Noah strolled along, sniffing and tasting.

The girls decided on a chase. They really made the snow fly as they circled the yard.

I had a mission this morning. I wanted them all to wish all of you a Happy New Year, so I called them in for pictures. Please excuse the wet sloppy faces.

Fudge says, "Happy New Year to all my fan club members, and especially to Gaylen, the President and Lucy, her hot doggie girl."

Morgan says, " Come back and visit with us some more next year, and please bring bacon."

Sky says, " If you're in the area, stop by and play ball with me. Anytime is OK, because I have a new glowball that shines at night."

Tess says, "Do I have to look at the camera? OK, Happy New Year, now can I go?"

Norma Jean says, " Hi, come play with us, we love company either in person or on our blog. Oh yeah, have a Happy New Year."

Tsar says, " Happy New Year to everyone and I hope you doggies get lots more snow to run and roll in."

Noah says, " Playing in the snow can tire a dog. I think I need a nap here in the window. Come visit us again next year."

Holly says, "Hello." That's the only word Holly knows.

Samba says, " Thank you all for your good wishes this year when I got so very sick. I wish all you dogs and cats and other animals, and your human families, too, a happy and most of all a healthy 2010."

Lola and Bailey both said, " We're having too much fun in the snow, we're not coming in for pictures."

I think my pack summed it up. Thank you for dropping by our blog and leaving such wonderful comments. We read every one of them. We feel like we've made some wonderful new friends and look forward to getting to know you even better next year. Happy New Year everyone!!

An Award

Last week Chan sent me this award and I can't tell you how much I appreciate receiving it. Since I was a little girl I've loved writing, both the physical act of writing in longhand and the ability to go back and reread my thoughts on paper, or now on the computer screen. Until I started this blog, I never really shared my written thoughts with others, except the occasional letter or card. I find that I enjoy the feedback I get from those who read my blog and comment.

Now, it's my turn to pass this award to some others whose words I enjoy reading each day. So here are the rules:

Each Superior Scribbler must in turn pass The Award on to 5 most deserving Bloggy Friends.

Each Superior Scribbler must link to the author and the name of the blog from whom she/he has received The Award.

Each Superior Scribbler must display The Award on her/his blog, and link to This Post, which explains The Award.

Each Blogger who wins The Superior Scribbler Award must visit This Post and add her/his name to the Mr Linky List. That way,we'll be able to keep up-to-date on everyone who receives This Prestigious Honor!

Each Superior Scribbler must post these rules on her/his blog.

Here are the blogs I have chosen to receive this award:

The Marge Blog where Sam writes about her adventures living with and training Marge, a dog whose early life has left her with some fears and phobias. Having lived with formerly abused dogs, I know how difficult even the most simple tasks can become. Together Sam and Marge are facing those fears and learning to deal with them.

Tails of a Carnivorous Convict, a blog where Heather helps raise service dogs. Her dog spends her weekdays in prison living and learning from a convict and comes to spend the weekends with Heather to be socialized. She writes about her adventures taking her dog, Ellie, to places we don't even think of taking our dogs, to the movies, shopping in the mall and restaurants, etc.

Stella's World. Stella and Ali Zophia, the sharp tongued Dear Abby of the cat world, share their life and experiences. Stella is sweet and gentle, Ali Z , who is a real straight talker, can get a little rough. Together they make a good pair and their human Mom and I share our favorite book lists.

Persephone and Buster's Blog. Miss Bailey Blue and her adult pups, Persephone and Buster regale us with their adventures and sometimes their fantasy life. These three, especially Buster, see things with a unique twist that makes for good reading.

Dreameyce. Emily juggles life as a Mom to a five year old, with going back to school and caring for and training a house full of animals. She writes about her dogs, cats and rats and throws in some beautiful pictures of the Oregon coast.

Be sure to drop by these wonderful blogs. You'll be entertained and see why I chose them to receive the Superior Scribbler Award.

Santa Found Us

Christmas Eve is so long, wondering if Santa will get here.

Noah hugged Rob's shoe to help him sleep till Santa came.

Look guys, he was here!!

They have to get the toybox open to see what Santa left them.

Norma Jean

Noah, Samba and Tess waiting for their gifts.

Morgan found a Santa loofa.

Norma jean is more interested in face to face attention than in toys.

They all wanted to thank us for their new toys.

He has treats in his hand.

Have you ever seen them so attentive?

Everyone wanted the little Husky dog.

Tsar thought he should have it.

The best Christmas present is a cuddle.

Look who wound up with the Husky.

Tsar was very happy with a little pink puppy. He carried it around all day and didn't rip it open.

Treats for everyone as we try to explain that these presents are for us.

Noah was sure there must be something for dogs in there.

I had to take some time to calm them down and let them know they must not touch the boxes.

They got the idea.

Some of them had to double check with Rob, just in case I was wrong.

This time we were on the same page.

Dogs only open dog gifts. We'll take care of the others.

A quick back scratch and we're ready.

Noah was our chief paper shredder this year. That used to be Monty's job.

Morgan helped him.

Tsar was sure this one must be for him.

It looks like Santa did a good job again this year. Everyone spent the day playing, eating and napping. What could be better on Christmas?

Be sure to visit Dogs-N-More. This is Rainbow Week and we're remembering the animals that live on forever in our memories and our hearts.
