You all know Fudge. He has trouble keeping all four feet on the ground. The boy loves to jump and he can really jump high. Last week while campaigning to go outside to play, Fudge started jumping straight up in the air to get my attention. When he landed, he hit the edge of the table with his chin. At the time I said something stupid like, "How did that feel?" Then I forgot about it. Fudge went on spinning and dancing around and we all went out to play.
Fast forward to Saturday evening. I was sitting on the couch watching television and talking with Rob. Fudge came over and put his head in my lap. Something seemed wrong and I opened his mouth. The boy had four broken teeth on the bottom and two on the top.
His smile will never be the same. This afternoon we paid a visit to Dr B. After a short exam in which he poked at Fudge's broken teeth with a frightening looking dental pick, he announced that it isn't as bad as it looks. The damage is cosmetic and didn't get down to the dentin. It shouldn't bother him and when he goes in for his spring dental cleaning, Dr B will smooth out the rough edges.
Fudge thinks he did something wrong and has been very low key, so after his appointment with the doctor, we took him to Dairy Queen for a scoop of vanilla ice cream. That put a smile back on his face, even though it is a bit ragged.

Awww poor little boy :( He looks happy after the ice cream!
Oh no! Poor Fudge..we bet that hurt when it happened. These dogs are always doing something aren't they. Holly likes chasing bees and eating them which sting her in the mouth. She'll never learn. Give that boy a hug from us! Lots of love, Debbie and Holly
Poor Fudge - maybe Santa will bring him some new front teeth - is he singing that famous tune?
Woos ~ Phantom, Thunder, and Ciara

Shallllll We Daannce? bu dum bum bum, Shall we fly, shall we dance, Fudge? You should probably stay on the ground for a while, but here is the deal, how do you like it when you make this one little tiny mistake and SHE (Mom) has to write a blog about it, tell the world you knocked out a few toofies. I dunno, I just think a few things should be kept PERSONAL and I bet you do too!
Kisses,
Stella
Poor Fudge. We're glad that it wasn't as bad as you first thought. We KNOW that ice cream helps.

Aw, Fudge, my son Patrick is a bit of a nutter, just like you. He actually ran into the back corner of the garage, racing around it in the dark, when he was 7. 2 chipped front teeth need to be refinished every couple of years. You guys need to learn to slow down a bit!
Oh no... poor boy!!! Ouchie... hope he's feeling better!
Poor guy. He still looks sad. I think he may need some more ice cream.
Fudge, we still think you're very handsome. Sissy is prone to crazy antics too... last night, the poor Knight had to rush out in the bitter cold in nothing but shorts because he heard me calling Sissy in a panic... She found another of those BLASTED cactii, with her bottom lip.
Oh Fudge! You're still beautiful. Maybe that's what happened to Beau's bottom teeth, eh? g
Yikes! Poor Fudge. Going to the doctor is never fun. I am actually surprised this hasn't happened with my dog. She is a jumper as well and does everything at top speed. I've lost count how many times she has banged into something. I stop paying attention at this point, which is probably not a good thing.
I hope he feels a bit better now that his ordeal is over.
Oh, what a distressing day! I'm so glad the teeth are alright! Even if they are a funny shape, at least they don't have to come out.
Awww, poor Fudge. I'm glad the Dairy Queen set things right. I think you're still a handsome fella.
Oh, I'm so sorry about this. Poor Fudge. On the other paw, if Dairy Queen can make it right then I guess he's not that bothered. Still, sorry it happened.
lotsa licks, Lola
Been there, done that. Courtesy of Legend!
