What's Happening Outside?

My gang likes to sit in the window and watch the yard. It's especially good if a squirrel is on the feeder, but they'll watch birds, too.

Here are Samba, Morgan and Fudge watching the activity at the feeders. That is not a bullet hole in Morgan's back, though it does look like one. It's the cyst that had treatment last week. The area was shaved and there's some medicine on it to prevent infection.

This is what they're watching. There's a bird on the suet and another waiting his turn.

Now they seem to be looking over toward the oak tree which usually means a squirrel is on the ground. When I let them out, they'll run directly to that spot and go over it, inch by inch.

This Tufted Tit Mouse is looking back at the dogs.

Now, one of our Woodpeckers is having a meal. We have lots of Woodpeckers, a pair of Downy Woodpeckers, a pair of Hairy Woodpeckers A Northern Flicker and several Red Bellied Woodpeckers.

Samba is getting tired of birdwatching. We've put window seats in three rooms so that the dogs can look out easily. They seem to enjoy it and spend many hours watching the neighborhood.

Great stimulation for them! An easy way to entertain a pack of dogs, too!

Marge will never know the joys of window watching, because I'm too scared that she'll begin barking at passers-by.

How nice that your boys watch quietly! Whenever my girls see movement outside our window, they set up a fuss that'll about break eardrums.

The boys love to look out the windows too. You are so kind to provide that many special viewing benches for them. Phantom loves to lie at the front door when it is open and watch the world go by. We always tease that he is watching for a puppy:)

My gang likes to watch the world go by, too. Their favorite is when the neighbor's chickens wander into the garden!

Sissy has learned how to open the interior shutters on the Knight's side of the bed so she can watch the front of the house. SIGH. At least it isn't on my side of the bed.

LOVE those pictures and the positions your gang is in to better see the show!

It's nice that they keep an eye on things. After all, what if you had a rowdy squirrel out there?

Our gang just loves to look out the window. When we build our new house, I want windows that go to the floor in some of the rooms - just Scottie size. We have benches at the windows too, but their favorite place to sit is on top of their crates.

How great that they have window seats so that the can get a better look into the garden. I am sure that they see things that we humans don't. What fun!

I guess Maggie is not unique in her window watching! I have let her out about 4 times already since her initial out this morning and it's not even noon! She loves running outside to see if the squirrels are about. She's been disappointed a lot this winter, but does keep an eye out for them out the windows. I guess it's a good pasttime for the pups!

We like to watch but unfortunately one of us likes to bark too!
You must do a lot of window cleaning!

wow sue! those are some really good pictures of the birds feeding. We get some pretty interesting looking birds here but I can't seem to capture them! There's one which is my favourite, its a blue king fisher that lives at the bottom of the garden. And there's also a few species of humming birds - some yellow breasted, others with orange breast. All so pretty!
