I was surprised to hear that there are others that don't like pumpkin. I felt so alone! I was really surprised that so many of you showed interest in trying my pie, so I'll post the recipe here.
3/4 cup cold milk
1 package (4 serving size) vanilla instant pudding and pie mix
1/2 cup solid pack pumpkin
pinch ground cloves
pinch nutmeg
1/8 teaspoon cinnamon
2/3 cups chopped walnuts
2/3 cups chocolate chips
3 cups Cool Whip
graham cracker crust
Mix milk and pudding until well blended. Let stand 5 minutes.
Blend in pumpkin, spices, nuts, chocolate chips and 2 cups Cool Whip
Spoon into crust
At this point you can chill the pie for 4 hours and serve, but we like it best frozen. Freeze for 4 hours, garnish with Cool Whip and serve.
Frozen, it tastes like pumpkin ice cream pie. Even I like it and Rob ate two generous slices yesterday.
Enjoy.

Mom is not a big fan of pumpkin pie at all, but she had some last night that was really different. It is similar to yours, but there was a bottom layer that was made with cream cheese and something and then the pudding mix and pumpkin made the top layer, and then add a dollop of whipped cream or cool whip. She says she will have to see if she can get the recipe. Yours sounds really tasty. Thanks for sharing.

I think I'll have to try this recipe. To Australians, it's quite strange that you eat pumpkin as a sweet, because we almost exclusively eat it as a vegetable. Roast pumpkin - yum!!
However, lately the supermarkets here are trying and trying to get us to celebrate Halloween, and I saw giant pumpkins in the stores - pumpkins that are very different from the ones we grow here, so maybe the ones you eat are not the same varieties as the ones we eat.
Sounds and Looks furry good to us, too.
Kisses,
Stella and Jo
Thanks for sharing your recipe with us... we'll like to try it soon :)
Have a wonderful weekend!
What's a shower tower?
Your pumpkin pie sounds great. I miss that here.
I love traditional pumpkin pie, but yours looks so yummy I'm thinking I'll have to give it a try!!!
I never thought of putting a graham cracker crust on a traditional pumpkin pie, but I think it would be great, too. I always used my mother-in-law's recipe (old-fashioned crust made with real lard) - you're giving me ideas! Your recipe sounds so tasty!
