Reborn On The Fourth of July

It was one year ago today that Sebastian found us. He was very thin and his hair was sticky with a tarry substance and covered with burrs. His eyes were red from the sun and his foot pads were burned from the hot pavement.
He was tired and hungry but friendly and trusting.
Today while the rest of the country is celebrating Independence Day, we're celebrating the wonderful changes in our dog.
We've packed a lot into his first year with us. There have been rides in the car.
Medical care.

Good food.
Treats.

A soft bed to lie on.
A dog house to call his own.
A yard to play in.
Holidays with gifts.
An important job to do.
And people to love who love him in return.
We're very glad that Sebastian turned up on the Fourth of July.

I am glad he turned up too. He gets prettier every day, and it looks like he is still Dad to the Pupkids!

A real blessing for him, and for you!

Well aren't you all so lucky that you all found each other! ♥

We have had a few dogs show up at our door, one at midnight, she just walked up and scratched at the door. So we let her in. Fortunately for the animals, our shelter is a no kill shelter, unless for cause, illness or aggressiveness (very rarely), so the we took her to the shelter the next morning. They found her people that same day.

Actually our local shelter regularly runs out of dogs for adoption. Lucky dogs to be here in Kelowna.

We can't believe it has been a whole year! Happy Gotcha Day, Sebastian! It has certainly been a busy year. You really picked the perfect place to 'turn up'. Enjoy the Fourth Celebrations, the food, not the fireworks.

We are back again as we slowly make our way through the many comments left in honor of Thunder.

We want to thank you so very much for your kind words of comfort and friendship after our very sudden loss of Thunder. We are all still very sad, but the support and love from all of our friends from all over the world is helping to heal our broken hearts. We are sure that Thunder Dunder is now in a very happy place and also very thankful to have so many wonderful friends.
