Yesterday Sydney had her stitches out. Good news!
She had three little stitches in her face close to her lip. Dr B said the incision to remove the tumor has healed nicely and Syd held relatively still for him to take the stitches out.I asked if it was OK for Syd to run loose now as she's been confined to leash walks for the past 12 days since the surgery. He said she could go free as long as she didn't root around in the dirt. Bad news!
Syd lives to hunt. She catches squirrels, rabbits, and birds but mainly she hunts moles. She tilts her head and listens to the ground, then suddenly starts digging furiously. The dirt flies over her back much to Rob's despair. He gets to fill in the many holes.About half the time she comes up with a fat gray mole. It's her absolute favorite activity and the doc said no mole hunting for four more days. He says the tissue around the incision site is still weak and needs a few more days to heal before she starts hunting. She's on leash till Sunday. So the mole population is safe till then.
