Another Year Older

Yesterday was my birthday.

What? Does that mean a party?

Let's go party.

I'm ready, where's the food?

I brought you a ball, Mom.

My foot hurts, but I'm sure I can still party.

I love you, Mom.

Where's the party?

I'll sing Happy Birthday.

Party = Food.

Hey everyone, it's Mom's birthday and we're having a party.

While it wasn't pumpkin muffins and Frosty Paws, the gang did get some treats and as you can see they got to play outside.

They gave me this little fuzzy dog that sings and twirls his plastic dog bone. While it twirls, it lights up and says 'I Love You'.

Rob gave me some beautiful flowers.

I received a bunch of cards and some very nice gifts.

On Sunday our friend E and her husband invited us to lunch. After lunch she took me to the Build A Bear shop in the mall and I got to build my own PWD.

Here he is in his carrier getting used to his new home.

Here is the newest member of our PWD family. I named him Geezer. I had planned to name the puppy that died Legacy's Portuguese Pride and call him Geezer. So this one is named in his honor.

We also had a vet visit scheduled for yesterday. It was Samba's check up and she is doing great. Her hair is growing in and she has regained all the weight she lost. The tremor is gone and last week she yawned which is impossible when your jaw muscles don't work. Her other muscles are taking over and she's feeling good again.

Norma Jean, on the other hand, presented us with this on Sunday morning. Rob washed her foot and it looked like a cut above the nail. We got the bleeding stopped and put her in the cone of shame.

Yesterday Dr B took a look at it and said the nail was broken under the skin. He had to numb her foot and cut the nail off at the toe. Then he cauterized the nail to stop the bleeding.

She is still wearing the cone and when she goes outside we put a zip lock bag on her foot held on with vet wrap. She has a very strange looking walk/limp, but she manages to get around. She's being a surprisingly good patient.

So that was my birthday, the good and the bad. Thanks to all my blog friends who sent me birthday wishes.

A sore foot never stopped a doggie from having a party!
