Fudge's Furry Tales - The Three Little Pugs

Hi Everybody,

I thought I'd help Mom today by posting the blog. You see our Mom is buried under a big pile of papers and we can barely see her, but we know she's there because of all the HBO words we hear coming out of the papers.

She's doing something involving taxis. I don't really understand it, but it puts Mom in a bad mood about this time every year.
So, to help her out, I'm going to tell you all another bedtime story. This one is about the three little pugs. Once upon a time in a faraway place lived three little pugs. They were brothers but they were very different.
There was Phooey who like to party with his pals.
There was Gooey who liked to drink a little too much.
And there was Melvin who tried to always listen to his mama and be a very good pug.
When they were ready to leave home their mama told them to build nice strong houses and to be careful of the big bad wolf.
The three little pugs went off to start their new lives, but it didn't go so well. Phooey was too busy  going to parties to build a strong house, so he built his house of straw.
Gooey was too drunk to build a good strong house, so he built his house of sticks.
But Melvin paid attention to his mama's warning and he built a lovely strong house of bricks.
One day the big bad wolf was in the neighborhood and he decided that a nice fat juicy pug would make a tasty lunch. He want to Phooey's house and yelled, "Little pug let me in." Phooey was busy getting ready for a party at his buddy Gilbert's house and he yelled back, " Not by the folds in my fat double chin".

So the big bad wolf huffed and blew Phooey's straw house down. Phooey ran to his brother Gooey's house next door.
The big bad wolf followed Phooey next door and yelled at the two frightened pugs, "Little pugs let me in". Gooey yelled back, "Not by the folds in my fat double chin".

The big bad wolf puffed and blew Gooey's stick house down. Phooey and Gooey ran next door to Melvin's house.
The big bad wolf was very hungry and he was getting very mad, so he followed the brothers to Melvin's house and yelled, "Little pugs, let me in". Melvin yelled back at him, "not by the folds in my fat double chin". The wolf huffed and he puffed, but nothing happened. So he puffed and he huffed, but the brick house was still standing. The big bad wolf took a very deep breath and he huffed and puffed till he fell over, dead.
The three pugs came out to look and they were so happy that they started singing and dancing and soon there was a big party with all their friends. The brothers lived together after that and Phooey tried to give up some of his parties and help out around the house. Gooey stopped drinking and became a responsible pug and the three lived happily every after.
The lesson in this story is always listen to your Mom. Here where we live we have a big bad wolf that comes around sometimes and blows houses down. When Mom hears that he's in the neighborhood, she calls us to the basement and we sometimes all go into a closet to wait till the wolf is gone. One time he broke our roof and part of our fence.
Be careful of the big bad wolf wherever you live.
Your pal, Fudge

Oh Fudge - your big bad wolf makes moving to your part of the country a non-starter in my house, but JB keeps asking. Hopefully, we'll come to visit you - but not during wolf visiting season.

I do love your stories and I'm glad you pointed out the Moral - to always listen to your mom.

Oh - and tell your Mom she's not the only one issuing HBO words while working on taxis - there was a marathon at my house earlier in the week. g

Your story sounds kinda like another story we've heard before but it's not Pugs, it's piggies, Fudge!
We hear those big bad wolf storms can be deadly. Be very careful!

Love ya lots,
Mitch and Molly

I not only have to worry about our taxis, but also my idiot mother's taxis. Who knew that broke old farts in Florida had taxis anyway?

(Picture my HBO Words here.)

I like your story, and your Moral is correct. Your Mom is a very smart lady.

Fudge, we love your stories. However, we don't like wind storms either, and we don't have a basement. We practice hiding in our bathroom, which Mama says is safe because it's an interior room with no windows. We're glad you have a basement and hope the big, bad wolf leaves you - and everyone else - alone!

Everyone always tells us we look like wolves. If that is so, we want to be known as the good wolves - not like that bad one in your story. Keep those storms away from us (and you).

Yikes, that's a nasty looking spinner you got there. We don't get those kind of things up here on the west coast of Canada. The odd earthquake or two (actually usually there are little tremors every day although they're usually to small to notice). But it does rain here, a lot.

This was a furry, furry good story, Fudge and I liked hearing you read it.

Do you know the one about the Billy Goetz Gruff? There is another good one.

Cheers to you and your pack,

Jo, Stella and Zkhat

We think that wolf had a cardiac arrest--good thing, too! You do have a fierce wolf in your area.

XXXOOO Daisy, Bella & Roxy

We don't worry about taxis until the first of July.

What a wonderful story! We have a big bad wolf that comes around sometimes too, and we go hide in the closet until he's gone. It's not much fun, because the kitties jump up to the high shelves and won't play with us, and Momma just listens to her radio.

Great story, Fudge. Wrigs paid close attention to the part about always listening to your mom (I think).
