A Long Hot Week

The weather map shows that just about everyone in the USA is trying to stay cool this week. Like everyone else we're spending a lot of time inside in the A/C and drinking lots of water. We have nice cold yogurt several times a day and mostly lie around doing nothing.

Mom wants me to tell you that the girls are feeling much better. It's been quiet for three nights now and the sick girls have been able to sleep. They're still getting their medicine but they all have normal poops now and that makes Mom really happy. She's not into mopping their pen at 3AM for some reason.

Here they are so you can see for yourself how good they look. This is Bailey. She was the sickest one.
This is Tess.
This is Norma Jean.
And this is Lola. She wasn't as sick as the other three but she still has to take medicine.
Mom is worried that the firework booms may start up again this weekend but we're all hoping that they're over for a long time. There are thunder storms in the forecast but Mom says she'll play loud music for the girls to distract them.

This is how we spend the hot days.
This is how the little girls spend the time.
Thank you for reading my furry tale and saying such nice things. I'm trying to remember a few more for you. Mom says she's going to make a book of my stories and one of our Christmas songs too.

About the dust in the Sitter-ella story, a long time ago a friend of Mom's told her that if you don't bother dust it won't bother you. Think about that. It just lies there quietly until you start messing with it. Dad get on these kicks where he wants to eliminate it from the house, but we're trying to convince him that dust is just a fact of life. Deal with it.
Stay cool everybody.
Your pal,
Fudge

Bailey's smile says everything!

I'm with Mom that dust left alone is harmless. Years ago, I was hosting Christmas dinner, and had not dusted for 3 weeks because, guess what? I had all the normal stuff to do, plus I had a 7 day old baby. My idiot mother ran her hand through the dust on a bookshelf and made a critical comment. So I went to the kitchen and got her a rag and Endust. Everyone laughed. She was furious. Jeez, the end tables were clean, and that was all that mattered! Maybe you guys could wag your tails over the end tables and make Dad happy?

Looks like the whole country is HOT! We hibernate inside on those hot days. Glad everyone is recovering.

For all week we have had upper 80s to 90s and today, it has come down some (70s). Tonight its supposed to be in the 50s so I can sleep all night now.

I once heard that dust is OK if you never get it wet, thats the important thing, Fudge.

We loved your furry story and our favorite is Billy Goat Gruff, do you know that one?

Time for supper, Buddy!

The whole world has gone nuts, in more ways than one. Time to sit inside and write another fabulous story.

I agree that dust is best left alone, lol. However, one good thing about gathering it up is that it's lovely in the compost. (You have to make sure to let lots and lots of dust accumulate, though.)

Marjie's right; just wag your tails and rub your noses around some more and dust scatters. We do a lot of that around here!

Catching up.... it's hard to nudge mama back to the big computer these days. So sorry the ladies have been sick; hope all is well now. Hugs to Sebastian from Abby, a fellow member of the chronic pancreatitis club. Hope the new diet works.

Loved Fudge's latest fairy-dog tale! Looking forward to the book. It will be available to the public, right? Mama gets books in the mail all the time and we want one, too.

We never knew her, but mama's grandmama had a saying: when she was young and the house got dusty, she got to work dusting; as she got older, she just took off her glasses. Mama takes her glasses off a lot. Sensible solution.

Sounds like you guys are getting some cooler air. Enjoy it while it lasts!

It's warm up here too. Mid to high 70's. We're 3 hours drive north of Seattle, WA. We're glad that everyone is feeling better.
