We Love Toys

At our house the UPS man is very popular. He sometimes brings boxes that contain toys.

We enjoy all different types of toys.

Plush stuffies are a big favorite with everyone. Some of us carry them around and play nicely, others rip them open to remove the squeaker and some of us spread their fluffy white guts all over the floor.

Stuffies are inside toys and are not supposed to be taken out the back door. Mom grabs them at the door and puts them on a shelf. Here Sky got one past her.

We love to chase toys that Mom and Dad throw for us. Everyone except Bailey brings them back to be thrown again. Bailey takes hers under a tree and lies down on them so nobody else can play with them. We all like the Wubba. It can really fly.

We have toys to chase in the water, too. These are special toys that float so we can see them.

Balls are some of our favorite toys. We have lots of different kinds, but the best are the glow balls. We can see them glow and get Mom to throw them for us even after dark.

We just got a box of them so now everyone can play.

The people who own Portuguese Water Dogs like to say that paper is one of the essential food groups. We sure do love to tear and eat paper and cardboard. We think of it as inventing our own toys.

On the Dogs-N-More blog we're talking about different types of toys, why we like them and where to buy them. We also have a new poll about toys.

There are only a couple days left to vote on the poll about collars and harnesses. Be sure to let us know what your dog wears. We'll post the results at the end.

Ha - we see a lot of familiar toys in that box there. TD loves to play with stuffies, squeak them and howl along with the noise. Sometimes he gets a little too ambitious and does some surgery on them. Phantom likes to carry a toy to the door when he is headed outside, but he has learned to drop it at the door. Mom just has to watch closely to be sure TD doesn't scoop it up on the way out.

woos, the OP Pack

I wish Marge would go after toys in the water. It'd be so refreshing for her.. cool her off, lots of exercise.

She might be tempted to go after something that squeaks in the water.. but I wouldn't want to find out because I'm not going to go in and get it if she doesn't want to!

We have some of the same toys as your pack. Sunny can't be without a toy in her mouth. She is bad about getting past us with her 'baby hog' in her mouth when she goes outside.

Maybe I'll have the energy tonight to photo a few of the girls' favorites, if I can find them. JRTs aren't known to "nest" but danged if Gretchen doesn't have a little hidey-hole between their crate and a chair!

And Sissy wants you to know she thinks cardboard is a food group too.

I love those toys. Stuffies that make noise are favorites in our house. And we have one dog *cough Beau cough* who loves to spread the fluff around and then eat the shell.

I love the photo of yours with the red glow ball sticking out of their mouth. Too cute. g

Have you noticed that when every pup has a ball they lose interest in their ball and want the ball that you're holding?!

Either that or fight over someone else's all and forget they had theirs ...

My mom wants to get me a wubba and some more toys for me to play with in the water. Those glow balls look really interesting too.

Our UPS man has a pocket full of cookies. They're the small dog kind, so he brings extra for Thor. Of course, that means it matters little what else the Man in Brown brings.

Look for chocolate desserts tomorrow and Friday, because, of course, Thor is Mr. Thursday.

I just replaced Sophie's blue lobster (flatted and destuffed) with a green one!
