I've been AWOL for a week. There are a couple of reasons for that. At the beginning of the week I was dealing with some migraine headaches. If you've never had a migraine, you are a very lucky person. Not only does you head feel like someone is beating on it with a large stick, but light and sound also are painful. At the same time you have the constant feeling that you're going to vomit, and sometimes you do.
I have some migraine meds that work well, but they leave me feeling wrung out and all I can manage to do is sleep for 24 or 36 hours and hope the headache doesn't come right back again.
Once the headaches cleared up, I sat down at the computer to discover that I couldn't think of anything to say. I had and maybe still have a case of "Blogger's Block".
On the door to our office where I compose this blog, is this little sign. Sometimes it seems too true.
Our snow is gone, so I couldn't post funny pictures of the dogs playing in the white stuff. I didn't think you wanted to see pictures of them traipsing thru the mud. Today the temperature was in the 60s and the sun was shining. It felt like a late spring day. The back yard was oozing with mud.
Never fear, the weatherman just told us that the biggest storm of the season, so far, is heading our way and will arrive Monday night. The dogs will be very happy about that.
I do have a couple of unrelated things to share in this disjointed post. First, sometimes it does one good to rant. After I posted my complaints about the Postal Service we had a breakthru. The package I sent which we assumed was lost forever, arrived at it's intended destination. I sent these stacking dogs to Marge and Sam. The person at the Post Office promised me they'd arrive on December 24. Well, they got there on January 26, but they got there.
If any of you want to use my soapbox, help yourself. If it makes you feel better, then it's worth it and we'll all listen and sympathize.
Do your adult dogs still occasionally give into one of their favorite vices and destroy something when you're not home? We've learned to shut bathroom doors so that Morgan doesn't have easy access to the toilet paper roll. We also make sure that paper towels are at the very back of the counter. Bailey and Tess love to shred them and I think the others sometimes get in on the action. Sky is usually a very good boy, but he has a special liking for plastic.
This cheapo plastic waste basket is now a one of a kind designer waste basket, thanks to Sky. Notice how he trimmed it all the way around. This is the third waste basket he has redesigned for us. Here I have redirected his play to a more acceptable item.
I have spent part of the week organizing my studio, which includes sorting thru my knitting and cross stitch patterns. It's reminded me of projects I want to tackle that have been half forgotten. Tonight I bought some new plastic bins to hold them.
Next I'll sort thru my yarn and fabric stashes. Then maybe I can get into a new project. You see, as well as having blogger's block, I've had a general creative block. I haven't started a new project since Christmas.
Just one more silly thing before I let you get on to more important things. We have a hospital near us. Until recently it was called "Doctor's Hospital". Not very creative. Recently they changed their name and put up a new sigh. I really think they missed the boat. Here it is....
Don't you think it would have been better if they had named it......
Ozarks United Community Hospital or "OUCH" ?
See you soon.

I love the acronym for your nearby hospital and I think you should suggest that the name change takes place immediately! They would probably appreciate creativity you provided!
I am sorry that you have been suffering from migraines and although I've never had a migraine I do know what bad headaches can do to your head and to your soul and I hope you never have to deal with them again!
I know you are suffering from writer's block and I think I can help you overcome that by going to my blog. If you can think of a silly caption for my SILLY SATURDAY PHOTO CAPTION CONTEST then I believe you are well on your way to healing from the dreaded writer's block!
Dear Sue: I am so sad to hear you have been down with a migraine. I hope you get your zip back and lose this sick thing for a long time.
I have never had a migraine, hardly even had those little tension headaches. Maybe there is just not enough activity up in my brainal area to get it to happen. I don't know, but that is how it is. I feel sure the Capt. Morgan isn't helping much, but some people might disagree with me there.
Just take care, spend some time in bed with your eyes closed and it may just disappear. Lets hope so.
One, two, three . . .HOPE IT GOES!
Cheers and hugs,
Jo and Stella
We're the lucky ones no migraines here......yet. Sounds like you came back with a bang. All that reorganising. We're tired just reading about it!
Love the trash can. Maybe you can sell them on the internet. But then don't think you can get a dog to chew on command.

Oh momma gets the head aches. We sleep next to her when she gets them. Glad you feel better. Yes, we agree OUCH

I am so sorry you get those migraine headaches. Don't they make you feel like you'd just rather sleep forever when they don't ease up? Talk about miserable. We would use your soapbox to go on and on but it's getting late here and if I started, I'd keep going forever right now. I do hope you feel much better...I love your sign and that hospital has a crazy name!! Lots of love, Debbie and Holly
Those migraines sound horrible. I've started getting "optical migraines" where I get an incredible light show created by my brain. My docs say that the headaches will probably start accompanying the light show before too long. Based on your description, I can't wait!
I'm glad that you're feeling better for now.
OUCH would be a much better name. It might even elicit laughs from arriving patients!
I'm thinking you need to be on the board of that hospital and get the name rectified immediately.
So sorry to hear about the migraines. That is one of the reasons I have not blogged as much as usual this year - I have had at least 2 a week and this week I got new glasses so that ups the ante.
Hope you're feeling better today and getting creative.
(((HUGS)))

Sorry to hear about the headache. I've only once had one, and I went to the doctor the following day and said I thought I had a brain tumour. He told me it was a migraine, and from that moment on I had infinite sympathy for migraine sufferers!
By the way, I'm wondering what chewing toy Sky is playing with. It looks good.
Feeling your migraine pain. So sorry to hear of you suffering them too. However, I would love to keep the blogger's blog photo on my bulleting board with your permission. It's perfect.
Great post. Rants are good!

Our mom gets migraines and they are no fun at all! We hope yours leaves you soon.
You guys are winners! Stop by our blog when you get a chance.
Love ya lots

OUCH! that's a good one.
sometimes we rant and we are almost always blocked, so we understand. most of our photos are of mud this time of year. no snow for us.
woofs
Hi Sue!! I'm so sorry you've been under the weather--I do hope you're past all the headaches and feel better!
I do love dog 'n mud pictures--Just not when it's my dogs!!
Please take care and know that I'm sending healing vibes in your direction!
I am so sorry that you have been suffering migraine's. I can sympathize completely as I get them too Sue. I hope that you will soon be feeling better. I had to laugh at your "designer" garbage can... pretty clever if you ask me! Glad that the package you mailed finally made it. One of the Christmas presents mailed to me from England arrived just a week ago... wonder where it was all this time?
I hope the storm that you are expecting doesn't turn out to bad. I will be keeping my fingers crossed.
x
Sorry you've been down with the migraines. :(
I agree... name change for the hospital! Hope the migraines are gone for a while.
And you KNOW my adult, biggest fur-girl gives in to temptation every chance she gets.
Glad the headache has finally cleared. Hopefully bloggers block will lift it's cloudy head soon - too.
I'm feeling the opposite of creative block - too much I want to do, don't know where to start so nothing gets done. :) Feel better friend. g
I have migranes occasionally, they are horrible! The last one I had was the day after The Oh! Bearded One got the cancer diagnosis.
I see you've joined me on a tidy up session although I've still got my charity bags to dispose of!
