It's Raining

Yesterday, January 28th, the temperature was 74 degrees and we were running around in tee shirts. It's still pretty warm today, but it's raining. We haven't had more than a light sprinkle of rain in months and we've had no snow to speak of, so this is wonderful. EXCEPT, I have two nine week old puppies that are progressing nicely with their training. This will be a setback because it's coming down too hard to get them outside as often as they need to go. Oh well, there are worse problems in life.
Sebastian didn't have surgery yesterday. When the doctor looked at the site of the injury, the place that's draining had scabbed over. It needs to be draining in order to do the procedure, so he came home and we'll wait till the pressure builds up again and it starts draining, then we'll rush him to the clinic and they'll fit him into the schedule. Rob felt bad for him and stopped for ice cream on the way home from the clinic. Sebastian has a dish of vanilla and thought it was wonderful.
The puppies are growing so fast. It seems like I can see a difference each day. Sydney is stretching out and getting long legs. She looks like a young dog now. She has a sweet disposition and loves to be held. She knows her name and likes the words "good girl". She wiggles when she hears those words. She looks a lot like a spaniel.
Mackenzie is still small and has short legs. She can't jump or climb like Syd, but she gets where she wants to go. I think she knows her name, but she ignores it most of the time. She love to roll in the grass and when you call her to come inside, she drops to the ground and starts rolling. She's tough and love to wrestle and play instead of eating or walking on a leash. She's going to be a handful.
We buy small size Milkbone biscuits for the pack and the other day Rob found some puppy Milkbones. I think they're so cute. Syd and Mac each get one at bedtime and they think it's a most wonderful treat. After just a couple days, they wait in their crate for their bedtime snack with tails wagging very fast. Puppies grow up too fast.

We have those mini milkbones too! Those are our favourites even better than the small sized milkbones!

Those little milkbones are precious. Amazing how fast they learn. Beau knows that he gets a cookie every single day when Jay gets to the kitchen. He just goes and sits by the counter and stares at the cookie tin until he gets his.

Sorry Sebastian didn't get his exploratory surgery. Hopefully he'll feel okay and not get too uncomfortable. So glad he liked vanilla ice cream - that's my favorite too. g

We have your rain today. It's up to 45 degrees. The electrician was working on our generator yesterday, indoors during the ice storm, and today, outside in the rain, and didn't finish. I can only hope for good weather until next Monday, when he comes back.

Glad to hear that your puppies are doing so well. I love how their personalities are already so defined. And I'm glad Sebastian got some ice cream. Tell him vanilla is my favorite flavor, too.

We don't know whether to be sorry for Sebastian not getting the op over with OR envious for the DISH of icecream!

Gorgeous photos of the sky! One wonderful thing about unsettled weather is that it produces those beautiful clouds and colors. We desperately needed the precipitation we just got here, too. I hope the rain lets up a bit so you can get the pups outside. I'm guessing Sebastian wasn't too disappointed that he didn't have surgery today, especially since he got ice cream. :-)

Well, at least Sebastian got some ice cream! The delay kinda sucks, because it's gonna be a surprise when it happens, and you know it's gonna be when there are like 87 things going on! BOL Butts, I guess you are kinda gettin' use to that, huh?
Those are some beautiful pics! Very cool.
And, oh yeah, those pups are gonna be a handful fursure! hehehe
Kisses,
Ruby

Puppies are just simple beings... a cookie can make them so happy. Somehow each will have their own lil character and will still warm you in their own lil way.
I am sorry about Sebastian.. glad that he had a treat on the way home. Rob is such a kind man.

Have a great day ahead... and hope the rain lets up a bit for you to let them continue their training :)

I will be glad for Sebastian to get this over with. He will be feeling better once whatever it is is gone!

I bet one of the big dogs will mother those two little twerps and teach them a lot of good things!

Love the puppy report. MacKenzie sounds rather terrierish to me.

Beautiful photos too. Our ground is very soggy, if that makes you feel better?

You had a post about puppies and NO puppy pictures?! I think that's illegal or something.
