Helping Mom

Mom has been spending a lot of time with Samba and Sky lately and the rest of us are trying to help her. Yesterday she took us outside in the morning. It was a lovely fall day and the leaves were blowing around. Sky and Noah and Tess and Norma Jean decided to roll in the leaves. They were sure Mom would appreciate the healthy autumn glow it gave to their coats. It got her attention when she had to pull leaves off them before they went in the house.

While we were out Bailey and Sebastian spotted a small creature running along the back fence. Bailey put out the war cry and we all raced down the hill to help.
Sebastian was the fastest. He grabbed the creature and ran toward the house. Mom started yelling at him to drop it. She didn't want him to eat it and she sure didn't want to have to take it away from him, but he kept going with the creature wiggling in his mouth. He has a big mouth.
When he got close to the house he set it down to get a good look at it. Just then Mom yelled "NO Sebastian". It startled him and he looked up. The creature escaped. He's still thinking about how tasty it would have been.
This afternoon Mom and Dad went to the store and they brought home a bag of our favorite treats, Charlee Bears. They got home right at four o'clock and that's our dinner time, so Mom set the bag on the counter while she fixed our dinner. After dinner we all went outside to play for awhile.
When we came in Bailey said she was sure Mom wanted us to have the Charlee Bears as a special dessert so she reached up on the counter and grabbed the bag. Then she opened it and poured them out on the floor. She and Tess and Sky and Samba got most of the Charlee Bears but the rest of us pushed in and grabbed some till Mom realized what we were doing. She ran over and grabbed the bag, but there were only a few left.
Mom wasn't too happy, but who knew she was saving them for some other time?

We were just trying to help! Boy, humans sure do get upset about silly stuff.

I'm sure glad Mom got Sebastian's attention away from that little mouse or whatever it was. I would hate to have it in my house as a visitor OR be eaten by a pup!

Seems like things are very much better at your house, Fudge, and I'm glad you got to celebrate with the Charlee Bears!

Stella

Well Fudge... You see...

The humans bought the treats. They are the treat dispensers. Sissy and I have these discussions routinely.

We love the cheese Charlee Bears.

Sebastian: Way to go dude!!!! Next time, don't let your Moms distract you...doggies can digest those mices (that's what the vettie told Ma when her Irish terrier ate a bird...she sort of freaked out...wuss.), Anyhu, down the hatch next time dude! BOL!
Fudge: Nice. What's your Moms savin' the treaties for anyways??? I say, she MUST have left them there for a reason, right? She figured you could dispense them as YOU see fit! Nice work...can you comes to my house, and teach me your technique...I always seem to get caught....

Kisses,

Ruby

pees: Soooo glad it seems Sky and Samba are feelin' betters!! Awesome!

Ah, nice leadership skills on Bailey's part in the race to be pack leader. Of course, some might suggest she was bribing the voters, but we see it as good old fashioned constituent service. So happy Samba & Sky were able to fully enjoy the event.

We have to go with your mom on not eating rodents from your yard, Sebastian, especially as you don't know for sure what left the horrible bugs in your yard that made Samba & Sky so sick. Better safe than sorry and all that. But you get an A for effort.

Sometimes you have to help yourselves to treats.

Too bad about that mouse. Maybe next time--if he doesn't tell any mouse friends about it.

We sure wish our mom would leave treats on the counter. She stores them on top of the frig and we can't reach that high! Bummer.

Love ya lots,
Mitch and Molly

Ummm - my only thought is it must be really, really good news is Samba and Sky are getting into trouble again? Amazing that Sebastian dropped the critter. Even more amazing that he carried it through the yard without harming it. g

Sam used to catch rabbits and smuggle them in the house, quite alive...

Things seem improved? That is great news!

Hehehe, sounds like a good time was had by all. Funny how mum didn't think the same! We love the look on Sebastian's face. He looks like he has settled in just fine. Have a great weekend mates and we hope the poopy business is getting better each day. No worries, and love, Stella and Rory

Oh, Mom. Sebastian brought you a present and you all helped yourselves to treats and she still didn't appreciate any of it. Le Sigh. My boys could doubtless give you at least 412 reasons why I'm not very smart, either. So, Fudge, give Mom a break. She's just trying to keep you all safe and happy.

Charlee Bears left on the counter are surely meant to be eaten, right? Since Sky and Samba were in on the action, that must be a sign they're feeling better! That is FABULOUS news!!!!! So glad you pups are back to getting into mischief! :-)
